Definition | '[horizontal_]divergence_of_X' means [horizontal] divergence of a vector X; if X does not have a vertical component then 'horizontal' should be omitted. Wind is defined as a two-dimensional (horizontal) air velocity vector, with no vertical component. (Vertical motion in the atmosphere has the standard name upward_air_velocity.) | ||
