Definition | A 1.35 litre plastic water bottle designed by the National Institute of Oceanography. It is deployed clamped to a cable and triggered by a weight sliding down the cable. When triggered the bottle rotates through 180 degrees which simultaneously closes the valves and fires any reversing thermometers mounted on the bottle. |
