|Definition||A sensor for measuring wind direction, the Theodor Friedrichs 4122.0000 wind direction sensor comprises a wind vane system which is continuously kept parallel to the local wind direction through the occurring wind pressure. The sensor supplies a signal corresponding North direction, vane position is transmitted by the shaft to the angular encoder unit. The sensor is designed for the acquisition and electronic transmission of wind direction data, suitable for applications in the field of meteorology and environmental monitoring (e.g. for automatic weather stations, airports or research vessels). The instrument features a built-in heating system for operation in cold climate. The 4122.0000 has digital outputs and is RS 232 compatible, the data format is 8 data bits, 1 starbit, 2 stopbits, with no parity and TTL level digital logic design. The instrument has a measurement range of 360 degrees, a max load of 60 m/s, a threshold at 90 degrees initial detection of 0.2 m/s, resolution accuracy of +/- 2.5 degrees, and is capable of operating within a temperature range of -35 to +80 degC.|
