| Definition | This group contains parameters pertaining to amino acid concentrations. Amino acids are defined as carboxylic acids with an amino group at the alpha position. The grouping covers concentrations of these compounds in the water column (mass of amino acid per unit mass/volume of water) or their content in sediment or suspended particulate matter. The grouping does not include amino acid fluxes or rate variables, such as bacterial production by leucine uptake. | ||
