Definition | Silty rock with a Laminaria saccharina park (often the cape-form). Beneath the canopy, the bedrock and boulders are covered by coralline algal crusts and urchins such as Echinus esculentus and Psammechinus miliaris are present. Though present, foliose algae are less abundant than in the Laminaria hyperborea park (MIR.Lhyp.Pk) with the most common species being Phycodrys rubens and Delesseria sanguinea. The most conspicuous animals in this biotope are ascidians, particularly Ascidia mentula, Ciona intestinalis and Corella parallelogramma. | |
