Definition | Sabellaria spinulosa, sediment-tolerant red seaweeds and occasional Laminaria hyperborea characterise this biotope. Some of the richer examples of this biotope (e.g. Luce Bay) also have a rich fauna of ascidians, sponges, hydroids and bryozoans. A similar biotope is also found in the circalittoral zone, where it lacks the algal component (MCR.Sspi). | |
