Definition | An autonomous submersible holographic imaging system developed by Florida Atlantic University - Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute (FAU-HBOI) for long-term in situ marine studies. It is used for in situ holographic imaging of marine particles, plankton, bubbles, and detritus. The instrument comprises dual cylindrical housings - one containing laser optics and the other housing a high-resolution 16 MP Imperx camera, power supply, and control electronics. It supports both lens-less and microscopic objective configurations, enabling particle resolution down to 2.3 um/pixel. Sampling volumes range from 12.4 mL to 71.4 mL per hologram. Data acquisition is programmable in continuous or burst modes, with onboard storage via 4 TB solid-state drives. Integrated GPU-based processing routines allow rapid hologram reconstruction and 3D particle analysis. | ||
