Definition | The CR-100-27 is an encapsulated active ceramic hydrophone, featuring a sound-transparent rubber encapsulant. This provides high sensitivity and wide band (between 7 and 100 kHz) frequency range. The hydrophone also features an ultra-low noise, high impedance 27 dB field-effect transistor (FET) preamplifier to provide signal conditioning. The hydrophone has both scientific and commercial applications in cetacean research/monitoring, and underwater filming. Ceramic resonant frequency is > 200 kHz. Typical sensitivity is -179 dB +/- 5 dB. Operating depth is up to 400 metres, and operating temperature range is -1 to 55 degC. The hydrophone is omnidirectional when deployed horizontally (+/- 3 dB at 1 kHz), and 260 degrees when deployed vertically (+/- 6 dB at 1 kHz). | ||
