Definition | The UIC CM5012 is a CO2 coulometer providing absolute determinations of carbon in any CO2-containing gas stream. The coulometer detects carbon in the range of 0.01 ug to 100 mg. Its cell contains monoethanolamine and a colorimetric pH indicator, as well as a platinum cathode and silver anode. The cell is placed between a light source and a photodetector. The CO2 is quantitative absorbed, reacting with the monoethanolamine to form a titratable acid. The titration current is continually measured and is the titrant making sample calibration unnecessary. The coulometer has an integrated timer and RS232 interface, and can provide results in the following units: ug C, mg C/L, ug CO2, ug CO3, ug equivalent. The measurement range is 0.0001 to 100 % of carbon, readability of 0.01 ug of carbon, detection limit below 2 ug of carbon, accuracy of 1.25 %, and precision of 0.2 %. | ||
