Definition | The Waters 2475 multiwavelength fluorescence detector is a multichannel, tunable, fluorescence detector designed for high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) applications. The detector operates at wavelengths between 200 and 900 nm which can be used in single or multichannel mode. The detector optics include xenon arc lamp, two ellipsoidal mirrors and one parabolic mirror, filters, slits, photomultiplier tube (PMT), axially illuminated flow cell, and blazed, plane, and concave holographic diffraction gratings. The 2475 detector provides outputs in emission and energy units. Emission units are normalised to a standard water reference and their magnitude is as independent of the PMT gain as possible. Energy units are similar to traditional HPLC fluorescence detectors, they are directly influenced by the instrumental variables and therefore are less reliable. | ||
