Definition | An instrument for measuring the total UV radiation from natural sunlight for applications in meteorology and outdoor material testing. The dome and diffuser provide optimized directional response. A specially designed optical filter provides sensitivity to combined UVA and UVB irradiance. The photodiode generates a voltage output linearly proportional to the UV intensity. It has a spectral range of 280 - 400 nm, sensitivity of 300 - 500 microV/W/m^2, and a maximum UVA/UVB irradiance measuring capability of 400 W/m^2. The operational temperature range of the instrument is -40 to +80 degrees Celsius. | |
