| Definition | A very large acrylic cylindrical cod end (30 litres) attached to a simple ring net or a paired net system (with 75 cm diameter nets) to collect fragile gelatinous animals (with 17-litre cod ends). Also describes a pressure activated mechanism to enable the nets to float up the wire to the surface without being affected by the motion of the vessel [Wiebe and Benfield 2003 Plate 3 E, F]. | ||
