Definition | A compact benchtop single quadrupole inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICP-MS) for multielement analysis. The range of potential applications is increased by Ultra High Matrix Introduction (UHMI) technology which enables analysis of samples with up to 25% total dissolved solids. The instrument includes a standard low-flow, Peltier-cooled sample introduction system, a 27MHz plasma RF generator, an off-axis ion lens, and a hyperbolic quadropole for superior peak separation. The Orthogonal Detector System (ODS) delivers higher sensitivity and decreases background noise, resulting in a measurement range of up to 11 orders of magnitude, and a 4th-generation Octopole Reaction System (ORS) allows for fast cell gas switching. Ultrafast data acquisition with 10,000 separate measurements per second enables faster analysis of transient signals such as single nanoparticles. Optional extras include different autosamplers, an Advanced Valve System for high sample throughput, and an Advanced Dilution System for automating dilutions. The system can be combined with HPLC or GC systems and there is a range of options for the nebuliser system to suit unique sample types and volumes. | ||
