Definition | An early model of quadrupole inductively coupled mass spectrometer (ICP-MS) designed for the determination of trace elements in a range of sample types. It has a mass range of 0 to 300 amu and a resolution of 1M and 3M over this mass range. The ICP generator is frequency-stabilised with a frequency of 27.12 MHz. The detector is an ion counting system/ analog detection and there is a three stage differentially pumped vacuum system with diffusion pumps on expansion and analyser stages. The 2+ model has a dynamic range of 8 orders of magnitude and uses an 80386 processor. Accessories include laser ablation, an autosampler, HPLC software, and flow injection. This model was introduced in 1988 and is no longer in production. | ||
