Definition | RoxAnn is an add-on to any generic echo sounder, consisting of a head amplifier and parallel receiver. It is designed to process echoes from an echo sounder in order to classify the seabed. The parallel receiver accepts the echo train from the head amplifier. The receiver is designed to gate and integrate the first and second echoes to determine seabed roughnesss and hardness. Data are transmitted via RS232 to an external datalogger. The instrument can read echoes from echo sounders that use frequencies between 20 and 250 kHz. This instrument is no longer in production. | ||
