Definition | A Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver capable of receiving and processing differential navigation data, designed for professional use. The device includes outputs such as position, speed over ground, set and drift as well as cross-track error, 200 waypoints, and 20 routes. This instrument has six channels for continuous tracking. It has a back-lit LCD screen and uses multiple screens to show different navigational data. The screen has daytime and nighttime modes. The differential capabilities of this instrument allows for accuracies of better than 5 meters. Data copies can be made via audio cassette recorder. Position updates every 0.6 seconds. This instrument was commercialised in 1991 and is no longer in production. | ||
