Definition | A time synchronisation instrument that uses the Network Time Protocol (NTP). It is used for synchronsing 9-1-1 systems, computer networks, CAD, radio consoles, voice and video recorders, ANI/ALI, display clocks. It operates using GPS as a true time source and distributes this information to external systems. It consists of a 10 MHz TCXO internal oscillator as standard. Optional configurations use oven-stabilized crystal oscillators (OCXO) and Rubidium oscillators to maintain timing if the GPS reference is lost. Tracks up to twelve GPS satellites simultaneously. Typical accuracy is 1PPS output +/- 50 nanoseconds of UTC. | ||
