| Definition | A fast-response temperature sensor for oceanographic applications. The sensing tip is a microbead thermistor (manufactured by GE Thermometics), mounted on a 9.525 mm diameter stainless steel string which can be attached to ocean microstructure instruments. The instrument has a frequency response of approximately 23 Hz and a response time of 0.007 s. The sensor operates over the range -2 to +32 degC and has a resolution of 0.0001 degC. | ||
