Definition A colorimetric autoanalyser (AA) that may be used to measure nutrient concentrations in seawater. It is an air-segmented, continuous flow instrument comprising a sampler, a peristaltic pump which simultaneously pumps samples, reagents and air bubbles through the system, an analytical cartridge and a colorimeter. Additional modules for functions such as dialysis, distillation and heating can be added to the system, depending on user requirements.
