| Definition | An autonomous profiling float with biogeochemical sensor options rated to 2000 m. Widely used within the international Argo program, it consists of an aluminium hull, an APF-11 controller, and an Iridium Circuit Switch/RUDICS telemetry system as standard. Sensors typically include a Sea-Bird SBE 41CP CTD, a WET Labs FLbb(CD) fluorometer, and an Aanderaa 4430 dissolved oxygen sensor. Sensor options include RBR Argo CTD, a RINKO ARO-FT dissolved oxygen sensor, an SBE Float Deep SeaFET pH sensor, a Satlantic OCR 504 radiometer, a WET Labs C Rover transmissometer, and a WET Labs SUNA nitrate sensor. There are also options for custom sensor integration, a carbon fibre hull, or for Iridium Short Burst Data (SBD) telemetry. Additional features such as ice avoidance can be included dependent on the float configuration. | ||
