Definition | A vane and propeller sensor specifically designed for marine applications. It uses a 4 blade propeller to measure wind speed. The propeller output is an AC sine wave voltage signal with frequency proportional to wind speed. Vane angle (wind direction) is sensed by a potentiometer. All housing parts are injection moulded, UV stabilised thermoplastic. Fittings are stainless steel and anodized aluminium. Ball bearings are stainless steel. This marine model features a specialised lubricant for marine use and a sealed heavy duty cable pigtail in place of the junction box on standard models. The instrument mounts on standard 1 inch pipe. Accuracy is +/-0.5 m/s for wind speed and +/-5 degrees for direction. | |
